Antonio Alcaraz (Alicante, 1963) has won the Castilla-La Mancha Printmaking Prize 2021 for “Pozo de San Vicente – Linares”, 140 x 220 cm. A work on Somerset Velvet Enhanced paper and Wenzhou paper varnished at the end, and a print run of 4 copies.
The Castilla-La Mancha Print Award is a pioneering competition sponsored by the University of Castilla-La Mancha and four museums in the region: the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Valdepeñas, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Villanueva de los Infantes, the Museo Infanta Elena de Tomelloso and the Antonio Pérez de Cuenca Foundation.
Antonio Alcaraz has had numerous exhibitions in Spain, Chile, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Taiwan, Italy, the United States of America, France, Belgium, Mexico, etc., and his work is in important collections in museums and international institutions. Since 1988 he has been a lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València.
